My Trip to the Sunflowers of Sanborn, NY
Saturday was the most fun I've had in awhile. Grant, Sophia, and I took the 30ish minute drive out to Sanborn, NY to visit their famous sunflower patch. The morning was spent getting all dolled up and carefully choosing fun, summery outfits. If you ever get the chance I *highly* recommend going here. My previous perception of this place was that it was a random sunflower field in the middle of nowhere and people just drive there, take pictures, and go home. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually an entire booming business that included, food trucks, live music, and more photo ops than I could count!
The best part was that sunflower patch wasn't just a random small field at all. It was a huge area with maze like trails that took you to secluded areas where you could take an unlimited amount of flicks. We walked through the lengthy trails until we found a nice spot with part of the sunflowers dug out so you could stand and take pictures there.
I will admit that usually I would've been too insecure to have a photoshoot in front of strangers, but that wasn't the case saturday. Sophia brought her professional Canon camera and we took dozens of photos alternating poses, locations, and people. The pictures turned out amazing and not to sound cheesy but I seriously will cherish them forever. I mean especially since I haven't taken a good picture with my sister since we went to Hilton Head two years ago...pretty sad.

What a refreshing change it was to see a big gathering of people (properly socially distanced of course) with friends and family all dressed up and enjoying themselves. COVID-19 has been pretty detrimental for people such as myself who are extremely extroverted and thrive when they are around other people. I am so happy when I get to experience pockets of time that don't feel so dark and gloomy. I will continue to try and find places like this where you can still have fun while following social distance guidelines and being safe.
